Atlantic Pacific Sponsor The Ironworks

October 10, 2022

Atlantic Pacific Group have sponsored the artwork in ‘The Ironworks’, as part of our Unity-in-Community project.

The IronWorks is Southend’s new arts and culture venue, which is positioned in the heart of the High Street. The venue offers an arts complex for the whole community, which will also provide residents with valuable skills to help with personal wellbeing and growth.

Christine Nichols, our Executive Chairwoman and Director of Atlantic Pacific Group, attended the opening on the 7th September and commented “We are delighted to support this great new arts complex and of course the young artists who helped create the fantastic artwork for this great building.”

In partnership with other local organisations and charities, the new centre is going to provide performance and exhibition space as well as commercial space for social enterprise and local creative start-up businesses.

Southend Cllr Ian Gilbert, leader of the council and cabinet member for economic recovery and regeneration, said: “The Ironworks is a great addition to the City centre and I’m really pleased that we could support this project. This new arts and cultural centre will be a big boost for the High Street and will also provide residents with valuable skills to help with personal wellbeing and growth.”

Natalie Solomons, The Ironworks CIC director and project manager, added: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded this magnificent building on behalf of our City’s community, an iconic piece of architecture in the heart of the High Street. A community arts complex for the whole community. A huge thanks to the Southend-on-Sea City Council’s regeneration team for creating this opportunity for us all.”
