One Year On – Where Are They Now?

July 24, 2022

It’s almost one year on from the fantastic public art displays of Gratitude and Hares About Town, which collectively raised almost three quarters of a million pounds with help from us as logistics partners.

So, Unity-In-Community patron Tony Cottee, and our Chairwoman Chrissy Nichols, went  on a short mission this week to visit the statues that we sponsored and then purchased during each event.

Gratitude

Wild in Arts ‘Gratitude’, which was a spectacular art display celebrating ‘key workers’ for their courage and dedication during the pandemic. The event opened in August and was displayed in Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh and London.

We were the Logistics partner for the event and sponsored our own statue called ‘Together’ created by Sally Chinea. ‘Together’ now lives in Atlantic Pacific’s head office and can be seen below with Tony, Chrissy and some of the team.

Hares About Town

The ‘Hares About Town’ public art trail raised £500K for Havens Hospices, with ‘Hare-y Biker’ being sponsored by us. Artist Neil Fendell created him, depicting local scenes from around Southend on Sea, and Hare-y now lives at Leigh-on-Sea Brewery.

The brewery, along with Atlantic Pacific, jointly bid for Hare-y Biker at the Havens Hospices fundraising auction. Since moving into his new home, he is still seen and visited regularly by the Southend public, which was important to us. He also gets involved with Leigh-on-Sea Brewery‘s many events throughout the year and can be seen below with a couple of old friends.
